Sustainability
Delivering a strong value for society is the best way to create sustainable returns
At Reed – Societe Generale Group, we believe delivering a strong value for society is the best way to create sustainable, risk-adjusted financial returns for our investors in the sectors where we operate.
Therefore, from investment decision to exit, Reed – Societe Generale Group fully integrates sustainability within its processes.
We also believe investors and stakeholders need transparent and auditable metrics to assess and track over time the actual impact on society our portfolio companies have.
Reed – Societe Generale Group has developed a sustainability proprietary methodology. Thanks to this methodology, we are in capacity to monetize the negative and positive impact on society of the solutions deployed by our portfolio companies into a holistic metric, the Social Return on Investment (SROI).
The involvement of our trusted partners, Axa Climate and Blunomy, to build and implement our methodology guarantees we deploy a robust, transparent and auditable sustainability assessment framework.
Investment process and sustainability
Our rigorous investment process aims at ensuring sound investment decisions and performance, both from a financial and a sustainability perspective.
In addition to applying a stringent exclusion policy, in line with Societe Generale’s policies, we invest if and only if we can demonstrate over time a positive social return on investment (“SROI”) encompassing environmental, social and economic aspects of the solutions developed by our portfolio companies.
We assess such return for society through the full investment cycle from sourcing, due diligence and active asset management until exit.
